2008-2009 President's Message:

Your officers and directors are off to an early start. With "all hands on deck" for an early June meeting of the 2008 - 2009 Board, we reviewed our finances and began to plan our meeting and speakers.

We encourage all members to invite their friends and colleagues to join our Estate Planning Council of Delaware to enjoy fellowship and educational opportunities. Our goal is to expand your exposure to estate planning topics to enhance your service to clients. The EPCDE is a great forum for making solid, professional connections that can help you when advising clients.

Your membership in EPCDE comes with access to Leimberg Services, another great resource for the estate planning profession. Be sure to check it out through our website.

I want to officially welcome Melissa Brooks, who begins her term as our new Executive Director. Melissa has a proven track record of assisting the Council, even before being officially installed. We look forward to a long relationship with Melissa as our Executive Director.

In order to provide you with the best programs and resources for the upcoming year, the Board has authorized a modest increase in annual dues to $300. Rule changes for this year are:

1. No "No Show Fee"
2. We will try a policy which allows a member, who has reserved a dinner and ultimately finds he/she cannot attend, to substitute another member or non-member.

We will evaluate the success of these changes next year.
